The Engagement
Easter has been a very important time for Adam. It's the date of his conversion to traditional Catholicism (2006) and also the date that he first went to St. Louis to visit Jennifer (2007). This year's Easter was no different because it was the date Jennifer and Adam were engaged. Adam was in St. Louis visiting for the weekend. Jennifer's younger siblings had just finished the Easter egg hunt - which was moved inside this year because of snow (!). Jennifer, seeing the hordes of candy collected by the kids, lamented that she wished she had an egg. Adam, guessing something like that might happen, had put a ring inside an egg and put it in his pocket before the egg hunt began. Seizing the opportunity, he pulled the egg from his pocket and said, "here's an egg for you." Jennifer opened it with shock in her eyes and Adam asked, with nerves in his voice, if she would marry him. She said yes, of course :)
